Dispense a small amount of gel into a plastic mixing well. Saturate a cotton pellet or precision applicator with the material and massage it into the tooth for 30–40 seconds using a rubbing motion. Repeat the procedure if sensitivity remains - it usually takes more than one coat for successful long-lasting desensitization.

Remove plaque and debris gently from the tooth surface, rinse the root surface with warm water and dry it carefully with absorbent cotton. It is important to also avoid excessive force or rotary polishing which may increase discomfort.
